Create notation that speaks for itself
“For simplicity of the notation, we will drop the subscript $R \cup \bar{R}$ from $\rho$.” might suggest that your notation was badly chosen in the first place. Which is fine, it happens. However, you can debate Marek if such a sentence has ever worked. We don’t read papers line by line, we jump around and the notation should be able to sustain it. Disclaimers introduce direct fault lines when you stress-test your writing.
Marek is very confident to win a debate in every single instance that “$e^{it \psi}$ where $\psi =|\psi\rangle\langle \psi|$” is in fact more lazy than “$e^{it|\psi\rangle\langle \psi|}$”. It is definitely less helpful, as testified by about 100 people he spoke with about that one line which introduced superfluous ‘natural’ notation.
